Expertin,
Ordentliche Professorin für Sozial- & Organisationspsychologie,
My background is in Social Psychology (PhD, MSc), with additional qualifications in Computer Science (MSc) and Social Anthropology (MSc) and I hold both, a Swiss Baccalaureate and a USA High School Diploma. I apply my research broadly to the workplace and work behaviours, so the fields of organisational behaviour and organisational/business psychology. I often work interdisciplinary, and I am trained in and employ a wide range of research methods, including experimental studies (mostly web-based these days), surveys, interviews, workplace interventions and simulations.
I am currently University Rector and Full Professor in Organisational Behaviour at UniDistance Suisse – FernUni Schweiz – Swiss Distance University. My current university leadership role follows previous roles as Dean of Research, Executive Leadership Team at faculty level, research centre director and research group lead, Head of Department, and many further academic service roles as part of university level professorial advisory groups as well as university ethics, university research awards, and university EDI committees.
Previous as well as current honorary and adjunct academic appointments include: Full Professor of Organisational Behaviour at London South Bank University (UK), Director and Founder of the London Centre for Business and Entrepreneurship Research, Lead of the Digital Economy Research Group, Honorary Professor of Social and Organisational Psychology at the University of Queensland (Australia), international member of the Research Centre on AI Technology for Humankind (AiTH) at NUS Business School, National University of Singapore, Centre for Career Development and University Continuing Education, University of Bern (Switzerland), Roehampton University London, UK (Associate Professor in Social and Organisational Psychology), University of Göttingen, Germany (Maria Göppert-Mayer Research Professor in Social and Business Psychology), University of Zurich, Switzerland (Assistant Professor in Social Psychology), Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), Switzerland (Senior Lecturer, Institute of Work Psychology), University of St. Gallen, Switzerland (Lecturer, Institute for Organisational Research).
Before I became an Academic, I enjoyed training and performing Modern Dance. I also worked in the private sector in various positions, including as customer relations assistant in a private bank, as head of an editorial team of a monthly magazine, and as project lead in international market research. I mostly grew up in Switzerland and have since worked and lived in a number of countries, and very much enjoy experiencing different cultures and working with people from around the world. My past life outside of academia also led to my interest in research with very concrete applications in the workplace and in working with practitioners, executives and organisations to support the knowledge transfer between academia and practice that characterises my research today.
I am bilingual German / English and fluent in French.
